Stripes!

Hello all! It's been awhile since I've posted anything, we have been super busy planning for an upcoming bridal show that my company is going to be in. But I'm here now, and ready to talk about interior decorating!! Below are some fabulous rooms I found that have stripes incorporated into their design. Stripes used be a pretty tricky pattern to decorate with, but in the more recent years they have taken on a life of their own. Now you can mix pretty much any patten and it looks amazing, we just call it eclectic or bohemian. Most of the rooms below are on the more traditional side of things, they use stripes in more a classic way. A few years ago is when I started to really enjoy the look of stripes, so I asked a family member to try it in their bathroom. The finished result was amazing, she got tons of compliments, but I never got a chance to snap a picture. :( I hope you enjoy all of the examples I found, and hopefully someone will be inspired to use stripes in their space.

Live Like You

Simple use of stripes across the drapes, and on the throw pillows and throw.

My Home Ideas

Interesting choice of floor, not sure if I'm completely sold, but it definitely works in this space.

Decor Pad

I adore the over feel of this room. The old dresser painted turquoise, is fabulous! I'm not a fan of guitars, but I do like the way they displayed them, great decorating tip for a musician.

Apartment Therapy

This look is very similar to the look I had my grandma do in her bathroom. It was just a different color. How do you get this look? Here's How!

Supplies: Paint, Varnish, Large Paint Roller, Small Paint Roller, Painters Tape, Measuring Tape

1) Paint the wall your choice of color. Use Large Roller (let dry)
2) Use painters tape, and measuring tape to form vertical or horizontal lines on your wall. Be sure to measure each stripe so they are even.
3) Chose which stripe you want to start on, and varnish every other stripe. Use Small Roller (let dry)
4) Take off the tape, and you will have a striped wall.

Hint: You can do this on virtually anything, a table, dresser, cabinets, pretty much any item that can be painted!

  3. Hi Kyrstan! Nice to finely put a face with the blog! I'm back to my blogging, too, with LOTS to talk about! I love stripes in a room. Such a great way to create subtle interest or major drama. I thought the white stripes on the hardwood in the kitchen in the second picture were especially creative in a very soft, gentle and unique way, sort of mimicking the wainscoting. Also, the third photo was neat- the planks on the wall even create a bit of a striped effect in their horizontal installation. Great post!
